![]() ![]() ![]() It's completely first rate, CAN"T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE, and I recomend it to anybody! Y'know what, I'm getting a camp Half-Blood T-shirt. I hated it before but PJ and the Olympians has just stomped it dead into the ground. By the way, harry potter is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compared to this. He found a way to relate greek mythology to modern day western civilization, no easy feat. Wales former Commonwealth Games shot put bronze medallist and ex-Olympian Shaun Pickering has died at the age of 62. He LITERALLY gave America it's own mythology. He didn't even think it'd be popular, who knew?) he wanted to give England it's own mythology, seeing as how the ones THOUGHT to be English were actually borrowed from other European countries like France (King Arthur, Knights of the Round table, a-cough-cough.) What Riordan has done is similar, in fact more literal than what the Great Oxford Prof. When Tolkien wrote the LOTR, (he mainly did it for an outlet for his love of language, and the ones hee has created. I think personally, in a sense, Riordan has become the modern day Tolkien. Riordan makes you LOVE the characters, he makes you really search your feelings and think. I just might like Percy Jackson and the olympians better, than John Ronald, Reuls works. ![]() I am the biggest Tolkien nut ever! I have just read this entire series (bought every book too.) starting at the beginning of October. The Last Olympian is a fantasy-adventure novel based on Greek mythology by Rick Riordan, published on May 5, 2009. I read the whole series in a month, a tolkien fans thoughts. ![]()
